XBOX Experience

The Xbox Experience

It’s no secret that playing video games is fast becoming America’s favorite past time. Everyone from kids to old people all seems to be hooked on to video games. If you have been playing video games for some time, then you must be one of those who started playing video games on their pc’s and now are in to console gaming. Amongst the consoles there seems to be stiff competition between all the three major manufacturers. Sony with their Playstation 3 wanted to target the more hardcore gamers who demanded the best graphics and gameplay experiences. Nintendo wanted to add the physical aspect to gaming to target the new gamer and in the process created a whole new genre with its Wii. Finally, Microsoft Xbox 360 wanted to target the normal gamer who wanted to have a great gaming experience but not at a really high cost. I personally fall in to the final category and this is why I own an Xbox 360.

Xbox owners have had their own share of hardware issued to deal with, which undermined the great feature of the console upon release. With a 33.33% failure rate it was bound to get all the negative publicity but it’s safe to say that the troubles are now in the past and people actually have some great experiences to report. Xbox has currently the most sold units out of all 3 consoles in the United States of America, which shows how successful it has been. One of the major reasons for this success is the great games that are available on the consoles. First party titles such as Halo have been the talk of the town since the original Xbox was launched and each sequel has broken newer sales records. Apart from the great first party titles Xbox 360 also possesses a great array of 3rd party titles. Series such as Call of Duty, FIFA and Smack down vs. Raw just to name a few have made Xbox in to a success worldwide. Apart from the gaming, the social aspect of the console has also contributed in making it a success. People can use the Xbox to directly access Facebook or twitter account to keep them in touch with their loved one at all times. People can also use their Xbox to video chat with friends and not to mention all the great multiplayer experience that await people. Read the rest of this entry »

“For last several years FIFA has been having a greater market share growth as compared to Konami,” said Jens Uwe Intat, Senior Vice President of EA Europe, as quoted from Detikinet, Tuesday (31/08/2010).

EA Sports Versus Konami

Intat admitted that PES was indeed better than their FIFA games during the PlayStation 2 era, however this had changed.

“It’s right to say that Konami’s products used to be better, however we have been making a lot of development to make FIFA the best,” he added.

EA Games will be releasing its latest soccer game, FIFA 11, soon. The game will be having a strong competition from Konami’s latest to-be-released soccer game, PES 2011. Both games are are intended to be released in the coming October 2010. Read the rest of this entry »
