The Force Unleashed Announced New Content

LucasArts has announced that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is the fastest selling Star Wars game to date. While it’s not hard to see that anything branded with the Star Wars moniker is going to sell its share of units, it seems like LucasArts finally got a game right. After the fiasco that was Star Wars Galaxies, they’ve finally moved in the right direction. The game has received high ratings from most all game review sites, resulting in a metacritic score of 73, which is pretty good considering how unforgiving some game review sites can be.

In addition to this announcement, Lucas Arts also mentioned that it will release two rounds of new content which will be available for download this fall.

The first of the downloadable content will be composed of new costumes and character models which can be used while playing the single player campaign. New costumes will be introduced for Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Kit Fisto.

The second downloadable content pack will be available later this year and will feature a new single player mission, which is set in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant. Vader’s Secret Apprentice turns to the Temple to learn more about his father and while searching through the rubble of the destroyed building, he must confront his inner demon.

There has been no word yet on the cost associated with these downloads, but expect an announcement soon.
